The days are getting shorter, nature is transforming: the trees are saying goodbye to their green coat of leaves, mushrooms and forest fruits are being gathered and the animals are preparing for a long winter rest. Just as nature prepares for the changes, it is also important to prepare our skin for the upcoming change of seasons with the necessary care.
Why is skincare so important?
Supporting the protective function of the skin is only one goal of skin care. In addition, with proper skin care, you can counteract the natural aging process. The skin begins to age as early as the age of 20. The connective tissue of the middle layer of the skin, the so-called dermis, begins to give way. As a result, the skin becomes sagging and drier. In addition, wrinkles form. Effective skincare can slow down this process and make the skin appear healthier.
To what extent can you influence the appearance of the skin through care?
Effective skin care aims to make the skin more supple. Ideally, even the previously lost elasticity of the skin increases again. There are a number of funds available for this. Washing the face with clean water or applying creams to the skin are just two of them. Which active ingredients the creams contain and whether, for example, lotions and oils should be rather greasy or moist depend on the nature of the respective skin.

Take care of dry skin
Dry skin is primarily due to one’s own lifestyle and age. The skin is only rudimentarily able to accumulate moisture in the body, for example due to excessive nicotine or alcohol consumption. As a result, the skin feels brittle and is sometimes covered with dandruff.
The best skin care for dry skin is to compensate for moisture loss. Fragrance-free products, which contain many vitamins, are considered to be particularly effective. These do not put additional strain on the skin. Increased drinking of clear water can also be supportive. Or eating water-containing fruits and vegetables such as cucumbers. These also have the trace element silicon, which strengthens not only the skin but also the hair and nails.
In autumn and winter, our largest sensory organ, our skin, is put under greater strain than in the warmer months of the year. The alternation between frosty, humid outdoor air and dry heating air disturbs its natural lipid-moisture balance, because it has to protect itself against cold and dehydration. The result: a sallow, pale and dry complexion. To make the complexion radiant again, we have collected some tips for the right skin care in autumn. For supple, soft skin in the cooler months!
The be-all and end-all in the transitional period: Our skin needs moisture.
In autumn, our skin is constantly exposed to changing temperatures and therefore needs particularly rich moisturizing care. At the beginning of autumn, it is the constantly cooler air that demands a lot of moisture from our skin. The sebaceous glands reduce oil production, which means that there is a risk that our skin will dry out many times faster. In addition, the warm heating air in our home does the rest. A rich skin care cream provides our skin with the necessary moisture and gives it new resilience and resistance.

It all depends on the right care
- To gently cleanse the facial skin and protect it from additional dehydration, it is important to rely on mild, natural care.
- While a moisturizing, rich facial care should be chosen during the day, it is advisable to pay attention to care with moisturizing, regenerating active ingredients at night.
- Body care is also an important part of the daily care ritual. It should therefore be given greater attention, especially in the fall. Replenishing body lotions with a high proportion of added fats, such as shea butter, argan or olive oil, provide our bodies with sufficient moisture again.
- Skin care in autumn should not only include the face, neck and décolleté, our hands and feet also need more attention again. Foot baths with nourishing oils ensure better circulation. Soaps and creams with moisturizing and refatting ingredients are suitable for hand care. More products for hand and foot care.
- In the cold season, our lips often appear chapped and dry. Special lip care, such as a lip balm with a higher fat content, cares for the delicate skin and also protects against chilly temperatures.
Autumn as a feel-good time for body, mind & soul
Pampering peeling in autumn
Peelings are very suitable, for example, before applying a face mask or before applying a body lotion, as the skin is gently freed from dead, dry horny scales and can thus better absorb the subsequent care. In addition, peelings not only pamper our skin, but also promote circulation, such as mild cleansing peeling with sea sand and refreshing peeling soap for the face.
Attention: If you have high sensitivity, very dry skin or a tendency to severe impurities, you should not use a peeling so as not to irritate the skin unnecessarily.
A mask in the cool season
Masks – applied 1-2 times a week – or restorative serums for the night give the skin additional protection, support skin regeneration and provide a long-lasting, velvety feeling. LINDE moisturizing gel mask, WILD ROSE intensive nourishing restorative mask 50 ml and RÜGENER HEALING CHERRY regenerating mask soap for the face.

The temperatures are dropping and especially in the evenings we long for a well-tempered bath that lets us forget the stress of everyday life. Take a little time out for 15-20 minutes and treat yourself and your skin to pampering moments of well-being with our high-quality care products – such as our bath balls, a pine relaxation bath and our moisturizing shower creams. Breathe in the autumn
An additional freshness and energy kick is also provided by extensive walks in the mild autumn sun. Not only does our body get enough fresh air and the exercise it needs, but it also collects vitamin D. The gentle rays of the sun replenish our stores and thus get us through the winter in good shape.
Healthy through autumn
Autumn offers a variety of delicious and healthy foods to sweeten our shorter days: apples, pears, dates, grapes, but also sweet potatoes, pumpkins or cabbage sprouts grow in our region and help us to strengthen our immune system in the cooler season. In addition, it is the time for teas and warm drinks. Water should not be ignored either. Thus, the skin is supplied with sufficient oxygen and moisture from the inside.
